Happy Birthday Ian

Wow 5 years ago on March 17 we were blessed with our first boy. Mr. Ian Nathaniel Sechrist came into this world in all his glory. I have to say that it was the best delivery that I had. He was here in a little over 4 hours and I was alert and good the whole time. Since his arrival we have had so many fun times. He has grown so much over the last 5 years that it is hard to believe it went so fast. It has been great seeing him go from a baby to a boy. He is a great little boy at that. He told me the other day that "Mom you are wasting my time". This was at a church activity and he wanted to play the game not heart about the meaning of what we were teaching. He has started getting a little embarrassed when people focus on him. We sang happy birthday at church to him and he hid from us and the funny part is that it was his sisters singing to him because everyone else was out sick. Then at his birthday party he had some friends to come from school. When he arrived and say them he was shy all of a sudden. He is looking forward to starting school next year and I have to say it will feel weird him being at the same school as the others. A little part of me wants to keep him little and then I realize that means he would be with me always and I change my mind. I look forward to watching him grow older and all the fun things to come. We love you Ian our little EE.

Happy Valentine's Day and Anniversary

Ok well I have to start this off with an early Happy Valentine's day and Anniversary to Charlie. On January 26th, 1990 at the skating rink in Mt. Airy, NC I looked across the room and saw this gorgeous guy. Ok we were young and he was shooting pool with his friends. I was too nervous, shy to go talk to him but my best friend Natasha knew him and she introduced is. I told her after that nifht that I was going to marry him. Well on February 15, 1990 he called me and asked me out. I was only 13 at the time so we were not going anywhere but ok. I always picked on him that he did not do it earlier because he did not want to get me something on Valentines day. However I have some to the understanding that he is really not that into holidays. So on the 15th we will of have know each other for 19 years. Well actually on the 26th of Jan. but we don't celebrate that day as much.
So for something special I am going to name 19 ways I am glad he came into my life.
1. He is my best friend
2. He always supports me even if I am wrong
3. He is very loving
4. He is the love of my life
5. He is a great father to our children
6. He loves the Lord and serves him
7. He is forgiving
8. He is HOT
9. He is a great listener
10. He helps me around the house
11. He is a very Hard Worker
12. He helps others
13. He has great brown eyes
14. He is easy going
15. He holds the Priesthood
16. He is my ETERNAL COMPANION (this is a great one should of put it higher but that does not dimish it any)
17. He loves his family (this is great because it comes into our home)

When I Grow Up

Well on Tuesday when we picked Ian up from school he informed us of what he is going to be when he grows up. He states as a matter of fact that he is going to work at... drum rolls......Wal-Mart. So we asked what he wanted to do there. He said he was going to scan items and take the money. I really can not blame him. I mean it looks like really fun to run the register. I have to admit when I was his age I wanted to work at the grocery store. So I guess one day Ian may be working at Wal-Mart. I have to admit though that I was surprised. I thought he would say Wendy's or L & J since those are the places we work at. Then I thought maybe the oil place but hey at least he has some aspirations.
