Summer Time is Here

Well summer is here and the fun began. We have not done too much since Callah and Emily had games up to the end of June. They both had a great time and improved so much. We went to Cherokee with my mom in July. It was the first time that the kids has been. They had an awesome time even though I thought I was going to go crazy with them. If you have ever tried to keep 6 kids quiet in a hotel before you will know what I mean. Charlie did not get to go so I was on my own in that area. We spent most of our days just goofing off around Cherokee. On our last full day there we found a cool swimming area in a shopping center. The kids has so much fun swimming there with the locals. Emily had the attention of many admirers even though she ignored them. We came home and then the girls all got new hair styles. Then we left to go to Georgia for a few days and then I came home with one. The others either stayed there or went to another grandparents house.
Well to pick up from the last post we have celebrated some birthdays. Callah is now 10, Emily is 8, Mason 2 and Nathan turned 4. We had an outdoor fun party for Nathan and I think everyone had a blast. We had several friends over and did a slip n slide, water balloon fight and water gun fights. Now as our summer draws to a close we have great memories and can look forward to going camping soon.

Cause is 1,2,3 strikes your out

Yep it is ball time. This is the first year for our kids to play baseball, tball and softball. They are all doing great with it. First there is Ian...He is playing t-ball and loves it. He is number 12 as you can see and loves to hit and throw. He actually can do both pretty well now we just need to get accuracy. It is great that Charlie and his uncle Eddie are his coaches and I think he likes that. We were able to get all the cousins on the same team and friends also. The most funny thing he has done so far is take out someone that was running home. He got the ball and took off to home plate and slide in and took the poor kids feet out from underneath him. I asked him about it and he said that he wanted to make him fall. Oh well it was a perfect slide so we will see if he does it again. The whole thing is in t-ball there is no outs so it was not really needed but I guess that is a boy for you.
Next is Emily and she is playing in the coach pitch. She missed the cut off for softball by a month. So she is doing softball. I am amazed that she likes it. She is usually not my big sports person but she really likes it. She has got good at throwing with accuracy and hitting. Her coach is great with the team and makes them like it. She has so far played in right field and then 2nd base. She is great at fielding and has been in the last 2 in the coaches challenges at practice. She really likes playing so I am glad. She also amazed me at how fast she could run. She was late one day for practice and got there when they started running. She caught up with them all and passed all but 2 and she could of passed them. I think she did not cause she did not want to get them in trouble. That is my Emily.
Now to Miss Callah. She does not get in a hurry at all. She is the pitchers nightmare on that. She has walked almost all the times she is at bat. She just stands there and does not flinch. She has hit a few times but pretty much gets on base by walking. She is playing softball and has got alot better. She was not good at catching at first but now she can. She has got more confidence in it. Her PE teacher at school is her coach so that helps She has played right field most of the time however got put at 3rd base in one game. She tried her best and man she hustles everytime. It does not matter if she walks or not in the game she runs like she just hit the ball. I love that about her cause she loves to run. She is silly but I love her for that.Well the others are not playing but they love to play around. Amanda is old enough but did not want to. She is more of the looker type. She helps me with Nathan and Mason. It has made for a busy schedule but to see them having fun is worth it.

Spring Has Sprung

Well spring is here and we are all so excited. Things will be getting a lot busier as now we have Callah, Emily and Ian all starting to play sports. They are all excited as it has been a while since the older ones have played and Ian's first time. This is our picture from Easter. The baby is my wonderful neice Brylee. The kids wanted her in our family picture so here she is.
We have decided that we are going to try and homeschool the kids in the fall. I have been thinking about it for a few years now and have been looking at programs. We are trying to get into a virtual academy with K12. So hopefully I can get more organized and we can all have fun learning together.

Ian turned 6 years old in March. It is hard to believe that he is that old already. He is looking forward to playing t-ball soon. Charlie is helping out on his team and Eddie(his uncle) is the coach. We were lucky enough to get all the cousins on the same team to help out the grandparents and then some of our friends. Ian is a little nervous but he has a killer arm that we are hoping to get trained.lol
Happy Late Birthday on the Blog Ian.

Well Charlie and I are actually going on a vacation in a couple of weeks. It will be the first without kids in quite a few years. We are going to the beach to relax. Thanks to his mom for coming and watching the kids. Well I will try to blog about sports, birthday and trips soon.

The New Scene

Wow it has been a while since my last post. Alot has happened in the Sechrist family. We are now living in Virgina. We love it except for all the stinking wintry weather. We loved the first snow as the kids had not really seen snow that they remembered anyway. We got about 8-10 inches and they liked playing in it until they got cold. They built their first snowman and had their first snowball fight. Then we went sledding at Charlie's dads. So we did enjoy it.
As for any new updates we are all surviving. We are getting more settled in every day. We had a great Christmas and it was nice to not have too far to go. The kids are enjoying school and Charlie had a nice birthday. We are now planning on Ian's upcoming birthday. Well I will make more of an effort. Love you guys.
